 To ensure project quality, a systematic construction process and quality control should be implemented in accordance with relevant standards and material characteristics.
Site verification and preparation are required before construction. The ceiling base structure should be confirmed to be stable, flat, and clean, free from looseness, oil stains, and significant unevenness. The load-bearing capacity of the keel or suspension system must meet the requirements of the sound-absorbing ceiling's self-weight and additional loads. The ambient temperature and humidity should be controlled within the appropriate range for the materials to avoid deformation or bonding failure due to sudden environmental changes. The model, size, layout, and cavity depth of the sound-absorbing ceiling should be checked against the design drawings, especially for resonant structures, where the cavity size should be consistent with the design value to prevent deviations in low-frequency sound absorption performance.
Keel installation must meet accuracy requirements. The spacing between main and secondary keels should be strictly controlled according to product specifications and acoustic design to ensure that the overall flatness error is within the allowable range (generally ≤3mm/2m), and the firmness of the connection points should be strengthened to reduce vibration and sound bridges. For sound-absorbing structures requiring a cavity, the cavity should be sealed and have a uniform thickness to prevent sound leakage or structural looseness from weakening the acoustic effect.
Sound-absorbing ceiling installation should be carried out according to the material type. Lightweight panels can be fixed with matching hangers or clips, ensuring tight joints between panels and a flat surface; for flexible or composite panels, care should be taken to avoid stretching and wrinkling, and joints should be placed in concealed or symmetrical locations and treated with sound-absorbing sealing materials to prevent sound energy leakage. The installation sequence should preferably proceed from the center outwards to reduce cumulative errors. For panels with surface decorative treatment, painting or lamination should be carried out only after the acoustic installation has been inspected and approved, to avoid blocking pores and affecting sound absorption.
Quality inspection should be strengthened throughout the construction process, including the firmness of fixation, the tightness of joints, and the flatness of the surface. After completion, the reverberation time and sound absorption coefficient should be tested according to standards. Safety precautions must be implemented during operation, and dust and noise control measures should be taken during cutting or drilling, and fire safety regulations must be followed. Strict adherence to the above standards can effectively guarantee the acoustic performance and durability of sound-absorbing ceilings, providing reliable noise control and quality improvement for indoor environments.
